The British Wado Federation Yūdan Assessment Panel (YAP)

This is an ‘optional’ facility for British Wado Federation Association/Group/Club Members who wish to have an independent & impartial Wado Examiner/Panel for their own students or senior graded yūdansha (including Chief/Senior Instructor) progression.
This is NOT an ‘all-styles’ panel of judges, who generally have no idea of what they are looking at, but a panel of highly graded Wado exponent purists. Also, every applicant will be assessed/graded on the authentic, legitimate generic BWF WADO syllabus.
All applicants must be from a traditional Wado lineage. ‘Wado-based’ groups may not necessarily be considered for Yudan assessment (due to promoting a ‘watered-down’ variant of traditional Wado Karate). BWF Panel Judges are ‘traditionalists’.

Regional Examination Panel

ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF AN INTERNATIONAL WADO FEDERATION LICENCE & MEMBERSHIP PRIOR TO A BWF GRADING, WHICH CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE BRITISH WADO FEDERATION LICENCING OFFICE. You can obtain an International Wado Federation Licence/Membership Form from the ‘Administration’ Section of this website.
All regions will be divided into the following. Southwest – Southeast & London – Northeast (also covering Yorkshire).
No examiner will be expected to operate outside of his own region.
Please see near to the bottom of this web-page to locate your nearest Regional Chief Examiner.

A British Wado Federation Yudan Assessment Panel is also available to all Groups and Associations who wish to have an optional independent and unbiased assessment of their own members, utilising the official BWF syllabus.

Additionally, the British Wado Federation Yudan Assessment Panel can also be made available to Chief Instructors who themselves may need to seek advancement.

The British Wado Federation has the facilities and infrastructure to be able to grade individuals, in all regions, up to and including 7th Dan.
